AlphaGen Portable 3.0kW

Alpha expands its generator family to include a portable 3.0kW DC generator. The compact, lightweight AlphaGen generator is designed specifically for powering cable television, telecommunications, and broadband applications that do not have integrated generators as a primary component of the power system.

The portable generator incorporates several technological advantages including: 36 or 48V selectable dual voltage output based on Permanent Magnet Generator (PMG) technology, 3000W of power, and oversized fuel tank for up to 20hrs of runtime at 25% load or 7.2hrs at 100% load. Additional features include a convenient front panel with a keyed on/off switch, output connector, output indicators, voltmeter, fuel valve and engine choke.

COM-6 Telecom (24V)

The COM-6 generator set provides reliable standby DC power to communication sites in place of, or in addition to, batteries. The telecommunication system batteries provide power for communication systems at 24 and 48 volts. Maintained by utility-powered rectifiers, most battery powered sites provide 8 hours of reserve power. The COM6 generator set functions coordinate with the telecommunications power systems and rectifiers. When power fails, the telecom power control system signals the generator to start. Following a time delay, the unit starts and provides DC power for continued system operation. The COM-6 has local and remote annunciation and control capabilities. The unit runs on natural gas or LP vapor.

Generator Expansion Module

The Generator Expansion Module (GEM) is an innovative way of expanding runtime for PWE-3 or PWE-6 pole mount enclosures. The GEM is easily installed to the base of a PWE enclosure to shelter and safeguard the AlphaGen lightweight portable generator. Once the mounting hardware is in place, the GEM is quickly removed or re-installed without tools. The GEM can also be left in place, ready to house an AlphaGen at a moment’s notice.

The generator can be connected to the power supply using an optional Line Transfer Switch (LTS) that automatically switches the power supply to generator power during an outage. The GEM can be deployed independently or as a part of Alpha’s Generator Expansion Module system, which includes the GEM, a mounting kit, a line transfer switch, and a AlphaGenTM portable generator. The GEM system makes upgrading to generator backup simple and fast.

Alpha Generator Trailer

These custom designed trailers eliminate generator storage and transportation issues, while increasing emergency preparedness. Designed to house, transport and deploy up to twenty-eight AlphaGen portable generators, these trailers are a proactive measure to ensure the necessary equipment can be deployed immediately. Having the AlphaGen portable generators fueled and ready to transport at a moment's notice greatly reduces the duration of system outages, a critical key to network reliability.
