Beyond containing potential battery spills, there are additional
safety issues affecting personnel involved with the handling and
clean-up of spills. The Environmental Protective Agency (EPA) has
outlined safety requirements associated with stationary batteries. This
section requires proper ventilation, signage and eyewash
stations/showers, and the onsite presence of spill response kits. These
kits provide all the clothing and tools necessary to protect the
personnel responsible for clean-up and proper disposal of the spill, as
well as Acid Spill Absorber and Neutralizer. For information on spill kit containment and safety systems, contact U.S. Energy.
